Hi all
I am hoping to start my Elky this weekend...well that was the plan
I filled the engine with oil and then AFT into the Trimatic. After about 3.5 litres into the Trimatic I looked under the vehicle to see if there are any leaks and to my dismaym there was a steady drip of ATF.
From what I can establish it seems to be coming from the mechanism where the manual kickdown on the box is. See picture attached. Sorry its not a really good picture. Is there some type of seal that i'm not aware of?
It never leaked there before, but it was caked with dirt and grime which could have sealed a leak.
Any advice appreciated.
Thanks
K

Re: ATF leaking

Re: ATF leaking
Alvin, i'm busy restoring my Elky. Just put the car back together. I'm sure the trimatic capacity is more than 3.5 litres.
Anyways over night almost a litre of AFT dripped out into a dish that I had placed to collect the fluid.
The dip stick last night showed that there was too much fluid, perhaps I was not meant to pour it all in at once, maybe a little at a time as the engine runs the box oil pump will suck the ATF in
Any help will really be appreciated.

Re: ATF leaking
I had a leak that developed where my kickdown lever is. I used a product made by Forte called Automatic Transmission Treatment. This has a seal conditioner that stopped the leak completely.
My Torquethrust 727 capacity is 8.7L The torque converter takes alot of this.

Hot rodders recycle, where's those prius' going when the greenies have a new fad.
Re: ATF leaking
Also Overfilled my box by about 5l what a mess!!! Happens when you do not know where the level is lying.
The Forte sound interesting. Will try it as soon as the drip has stopped.
Sterkte!!!
