John's Quiz No. 9

van.jpg
Now this is quite obtuse, but interesting.

What is this van and what does it have to do with this forum?

These are/were common here in N. America...not sure why it's the question of the day here but some interesting things to consider are;

Some were aluminum and had 'Grumman' supplied bodies...like the planes..

Keep your eyes open for the HD Turbo 400 trannys w/ the six-bolt torque converters on these...they're similar to the ones Chevy Performance cars had and worth yanking out if you spot one!.

Also GM built some of these rigs as COPO orders using the same process to manufacture batches of uniquely prepared vehicles as they did to produce the performance COPO Camaros..
Not necessarily desireable as they built lots of Copo Telephone Co. trucks too and although real COPOs, they're not worth $ like performance Copos are..

John how are we supposed to know.

But my theory is.

Picture was taken in the 70's

Driver of the truck is Jody Scheckter.

In the back of the truck is a Can Am Porsche.

He's on his way to Laguna Seca for the next Can Am race.

Now tell us the true significance of the picture.

Gavin - good for lateral thought! What would need to be kept cool? No Henry, not a car.

The van was called the breadvan, but never carried bread, or any other sort of food for that matter.
