Thanks KR and HiFi

Amzing how different the reds are in the photos. Joys of old pictures.

In the top pic in HiFi's post the Lotus 72 with Jack V. the car is in metalllic red, I'm not sure if that is how it was originally when raced. BAT had the Lotus specially resprayed for some special event in the days of BAR. And i think it went straight back to JPS colours again after the event.

The Capris were solid red, not metallic.

Correct

I didn't like that Lotus done like that it wasn't original in colour or type of paint, but it was very good to see Charlton and JV doing their thing on TV. Wish I had a copy of that video.

I see what you mean, zahistorics, about the Grosvenor Star. We never had that down here, just the yellow roundel with the black Argus "A" in the middle.

I hope we could be of help.

Excuse my ignorance, but who is the "we" with this project /s (seems like there is more than one). Is this a local project and is it based on the Keizan car or the German RS? I seem to have missed something somewhere......

KR

Keizan replica is Chris's local in CT - being built now or very soon.

Mass/Glemser RS2600 replica is mine here in the UK, longer term project, I have a Firenza coupe and a V8 Capri to finish first. So far I have a Left Hand Drive Cologne built shell (a bit fire damaged...), arches, huge Compomotives, paper thin fibreglass doors.

Gunter I was waiting for that question, but I do not know.

But I'll find out, give me a day or two.

But if the car survived I'm sure it would have been restored by now.

Will let you know

Re the 1971 9 hour results just posted.

Check carefully.

Amongst the imported sportscars was a humble saloon that finished 13th overall and 5 th on index, also winning the team prize with the Cologne Capri.

That was the original Y151 car, driven in the race by new owner Herman Fekken and Jan Hettema. It would seem to have been fitted with one of Fekken's rally spec Twincam engines, as the engine capacity was stated at 1694 cc.

Amazing that this car has survived all these years and will be back at Killarney shortly.
