Can anyone remember the Chevrons that took part in the Springbok Series?

How about someone posting all the different models and the owners/drivers and what happened to those cars.

I think the only B8 that remained was Jouberts. I hear he still has it. Not sure about Jack Holme's car. I don't think we had more than 2 or 3 originals in SA. They certainly didn't race in championships of note.

Gary Dunkerley owned an original B16 but I have a feeling it was not one that came out for the Springbok Series but one that he purchased later and imported.

Joubert bought the ex-Martland B16 and raced it very succesfully (probably because there was no opposition!). I wonder if he still has that car.

I heard that he still has his Dart. All these "I heards!" If he still owns these cars I wonder why he doesn't pull them out of mothballs and let Deon drive them in the Piper Day races. It is such a waste.

Dennis Joubert sold his B16 many years ago and has regretted it ever since.

Every year when one or two of them come out with Piper & co he is reminded of his mistake in selling that car.

I would just like that FVC engine !

At one stage Dennis had both the B8 and B16. At that time Clarry Taylor used to drive the B8 in W P Sports Car Championship.

The B8 was also sold.

No idea to whom.

These were two beautiful cars which put South Africa up with the best of the drivers who came out for the Springbok Series.

Here both of them are at the Parow Motor Show way back when........

Has anyone got info on the Alfa Tipo 33's that took part in the Series, for that matter any Alfa?
