You mentioned the chassis was bent but the mock up looks very straight, have you had that sorted out already?

Cheers
Yes, the chassis has already been straightened. The only thing we still need to do is mock-up the suspension and fit the torsion bars to see if the geometry works out before we do the final weld on the chassis beams.

This is some of the pics we done on the right side door. We basically made one door from three doors by cutting and using the best part of each door.

As you can see, we cut out the rust and accident damage.

We used the best outer top skin of the one door and the best outer bottom skin of an another door and joined them on the door line.

Hung our welded together door for final check for fitment.

At this stage we decided to finally weld the chassis beams. We could not wait any longer for the torsion bars to mock -up the suspension, but after measuring, checking, checking again we decided to weld it up and move along. The black line you see on the floor is the centre line of the car, and we used that as the point of reference to all dimensions. (Yes on e-body cars the tunnel in off-set to the right)

Welded the chassis beam back to floor.

This is were we joined the cross chassis member next to the torsion bar hole.

This is the two joins on the LHS chassis leg.

Thank you 383CUDA.

We are going to Tarlton on Sunday the 3rd June to the do some test and tuning (and practice for me), so if possible come and say hello and we can discuss the story idea. I like the idea on an article on a muscle car, written by a muscle car enthusiast.

Here is the link to the SNS website on my car.

Test fitted the radiator. The radiator comes from a BMW and fitted like a glove.

Mocked up the motor with transmission for trail fit.
Image
Fitted motor. Can't believe that is a bigblock, looks so small in there. The intake manifold is a Mopar M1, and the carb is a Holly HP 850cfm.Used solid motor mounts.
Image
Enough clearance between engine and firewall, but that indentation were the winscreen wiper motor used to sit just looks odd.

Thanks 73Ranchero,

A project like this you can't do alone. There was a group of guys that helped, gave encouragement,or just offered ideas and support. We mostly worked after-hours and Saturdays, so my family time did suffer in the process, but now looking back it really was worth it.
