Ok sounds morose not meant to be
The CL series was the last of the Valiants in RSA - these cars look like the Australian versions but there is diffrerences unique to RSA
First of all - the engine - Oz stopped using the slant six with th VF series Vals - some say the VG Wayfarer Ute still used them
The Oz CL Regal SE - known here as a Chrysler SE only ever had a 318 LA V8
The L had the 245 and or 265 Hemi six
The Suspension - we send some CKD cars to th states to refine them
the suspension on the SE was isolated and smoothed out - just wish they added rear anti roll bar's and 205 instead of 185 tyres as standard - the power steering can also do with a FirmFeel kit.......
Anyways - bigger front over riders - rubber isolated driveshaft, different interior trim etc etc
And a Single Spoke steering wheel - quite nice
The car was in the end a CL CM cross - CM had better brakes - same PBR system as some Oz Fords from the same era and had the nicer looking CL exterior trim.
It was like the other cars on this site a Unique South African beast - Made In South Africa and only 360 CHrysler SE's were built
PS These cars were stamped over here some were ckd but Most were as unique as South African as Mampoer, Braaivleis and Klippies and Coke
The Dodge SE was imported from OZ as CKD
More later

Hi, I still got a Chrysler 1978 Body with motor in Bloemfontein. The motor got a 4-barrel intake, somebody took the carburator. Do you know about these 4-barrel versions? Are you interested in the motor. No gearbox. Cheers Rassie.

The good old CL...
When I got my drivers licence, I used my dad's CL wagon to do it.
It was a good car to learn in as it made the transition to driving trucks very easy.
