Bassil Gren Atkinsons Powerpack - Calling moby

Post by 68barracuda » Sat 28 Jun 2008, 08:01

I am busy with a process of restoring an atkinsons powerpack wich BG himself develloped for the slant six valiant engine way back in other words an ULTRA rare South African muscle car conversion and option

Fittingly the version of the powerpack I have is the Police Package - a Mark II version with longer manifold runners and different air cleaner on a MK II barracuda 8)

I am still trying to get a pair of reasonably priced 36DCD7's :(

I have been receiving enquiries from the States and Oz regarding reproducing it

Here is the manifold the 2 X 2 36 DCD & Weber Joby prior to being sandblasted and
painted Hemi Orange

and an unmachined "experimental" 4bbl unit based on the above - a loan unit from an contact - maybe the fore runner of the 4bbl unit used on the last Valiants?

Comparison with original 2 BBL manifold

BTW the slant six was developed by the enigineers at Chrysler US to a point where a 225 CID slant made as much power and torque as the 318 LA small block - but was deemed a econo motor and not produced- BUT I have the Info on the modifications done for anyone who are interested..

Compliments MOBY302 site for original 1966 test

Very rare machine you have there....must say far too many people really appreciate the Valiants. Thanks for the pictures, amazing the differance, the 4 bbl manifold belongs to another conversion....I have the road test somewhere. Will have a look.

On such an old car?? Road tests can't be copyrighted, surely. Very often if the item is posted "with thanks to..." attached there won't be a problem. A ton of stuff posted here has come from somewhere else.
