The GAA was a serious bit of kit. Originally developed for the RS Capris.

The heads a reversable because that is how blocks are made. Production motor heads are also swapable (in theory anyway) . They must have done some clever stuff on the GAA though so that the cam could stick out of either end of the head.

Interestingly GAA parts appear every now and again on ebay. I have heard rumours that someone is sitting on a stash of parts here.

Those 3.0 CSI's were great cars. They gave the Porsches a lesson or two in Europe

I dont suppose anyone has any pictures of what the BMW and Escort looked like after than famous accident....

It's funny how we start with talking about one make of car and end up with something totally different to the topic name! Here's a picture I scratched for. I'm sure this is the V6 Escort.

Sorry about the quality..........

One race which I have hardly any info about are the Wynnes 1000KMs that were held after the 9 Hour ceased to be.

There was a BMW M1 that raced here. Has anyone got details about it and perhaps the race as well? Maybe even some pictures?

The racing M1 or the M1 pace car that spun into the wire fencing on the parade lap and left Sarel laughing so much he couldnt race properly for the first lap....

Wasn't that embarassing? Hell, I rember that. I think one of our rally drivers was driving the thing at the time and he lost it.

Anyway, has anyone got info on the M1's that were driven here?
