OK so I've been out of the system for a long time....but for good reason. I had to stop my scribblings last year as I had too much on my plate to do it all properly and after looking back at all that stuff, just got the urge to do it all for real again....so I did. Please take a peek at
and tell me if you like what you hear. That is a pushrod 1963 Kadett at 8500rpm 10 days ago. Just how quick? well I have admitted on these pages before that I am no hotshot driver, average at best.....so armed with that and a set of standard drum brakes we took on the Clio and Megane Sports on a track day.... all of us on good street rubber. :D Nice to be back to talk about the real stuff!! P

Remember? John Shepherd in PE with the same Kadett living in Walmer those days?? Had a white model with a 3/4 Race cam that whistled and some nice wide steel rims!!

This one is a stage up on the German car running at 1273cc (German Car 1150cc), split sidedraughts to increase runner length, more head mods and an 'off the wall - leap of faith' exhaust manifold setup which has proved to be spot on. Power is huge. German car is currently at 108 bhp this one is just short of 100BHP/litre at 7000. We have not chased power on the dyno as yet....just timing and fuel set slightly conservatively to run the engine in the road car seen in the clip. I have a '65 sedan fitted with role cage ready for the transfer of the powertrain and want to get that running by end October to get ready for Classics.
