Hi guys.

I'll be spectating at turn 3 tomorrow. Will probably have the wife with me and she will not really enjoy a day in the pits only. But if it rains she might decide to stay at home !

In any case standard procedure is for us to meet up at Louis Powell's pit after the meeting for a braai and some cold ones.

So after the meeting I'll be there with Sarge (chief mechanic!) and the other guys.

Guys - if the ladies are a problem, buy them a car and enter them into Fine Cars. If they have their own car and it is pre-1983, then just enter it. They will love it......

Well, the weather cleared up nicely on Saturday.

Can't say my day was as nice, the car was running well until power dropped a bit and funny noises arrived, followed by all my oil being dumped at Cape Town bend.

Learned an expensive lesson - "when engine makes noise - STOP!" (old Chinese proverb). Now I am looking for a new engine!

Henry - I didn't get around to looking out for you, I was a bit stressed (also peed off!)

Re Saturday's racing...

Good to see Dawie Joubert's Ariel Atom on the track, Gunter's car had gearbox trouble... was just wondering what has happened to the ex-touringcar Sentra, the Sale's Hire Beemers, the GT40's and the Hawkins car... was good to see a Ferrari P4

Good to see the new re-bodied Supercar as well... will be with us for many a year

The V8 Master Competition is causing quite a stir.. just wondering how they are going to fir this series in on a already full schedule

A few things bothered me on Saturday... the amount of red flags, Had it not been for Fantastic Racing, will we still have Formula Libre in CT?.. and the weather.. should ask the Man for better weather... but it's Cape town.

And a thank you to Brian Smith for banning Quads at the circuit... heard that practise was stopped last Sunday to allow a snake to cross the track.. if this is true... I keep snakes as a hobby.. all my friends at home say a hiss and a thank you.. you've done your share towards conservation.. if not true just a thank you to all the marshalls for doing such a good job.

I believe Cape Town has become the Mecca of motor racing in SA.... 380 plus entries on Saturday (that's what I heard) .. and despite the bad weather in the morning still a lot turned up... quite an entertaining day

Hi Wing

Yes it was good to meet you too. Always good to put a face to a name. Regarding the cook, I told him that his age is creeping up on him and I'll sort out some appropriate lingerie for him to wear, but yes, I had a tasty boerie roll.

Unfortunately for us we were more concerned about the damage to our car and $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$! I missed a lot of the sports cars and quite bit of the early stuff with getting the car on the track and then getting it home again after just 3 laps!

I agree the guys stick out a bit too many reds which breaks the flow a bit, but I suppose the feel that safety comes first. Overall the racing was very good and it proves KILLARNEY UBER ALLES!

All this aside, can you remember the Serrurier Lola T70? Who did he buy that car from?
