I looked at that frame and thought: that's from a 1955-57 Chevy car then realized it's from under an SUV sold in RSA............

Here in the USA an 'SUV' refers to pretty much any vehicle of any size that's not a passenger car, pickup/bakkie or an van. Clear as mud, I know.

The Nomad was a South African car.1st ones had a Firenza front suspention but was not strong enough then the used a Holden Torana suspention.Borg Warner diff 4 to 1 Limited slip diff ,with a Chev 2.5 or 153 cid 4 banger and a 4 speed Opel gearbox. It is a Jeep like thing but drives like a car.Its a lovely car I have 2 of them. The one from 1978.

It's such a basic design Len, isn't there anyone building replicas in S.A.?

They were cool when I was a kid but maybe not cool enough to bother building them now?
Cheers
