1972 Toyota Corona MKII - Pick-up

So I am contemplating of selling my bakkie, lots of blood sweat and tear have gone into her but the love for Opel is taking the overhand and don't want her to be neglected and hope to find her a good home.

Original 1600 12R Engine (fully overhauled)
Original Gearbox
Installed Disc brakes in the front
New Wheels and Tyres
Redone interior, close to original spec
I have all the restoration details, what has been done and all the slips
Workshop manual

Bakkie is great condition only thing that is still on the to-do list is to re-chrome the bumpers and find the correct steering wheel
Then it need a new gearbox seal, which I will install before the sale.

I obviously spend more then she is worth and not looking to get my money back but I do want an honest price.


Question would be how much would I ask, I really appreciate some your humble opinions on what she is worth.

Well I know if i advertise it for a certain amount and it sell within a week, my price was too low...If it is for sale for 6 months my price is too high...

Obviously I am not going to ask 100K that would be over the top, but I was thinking R65.000 neg ? Is that fair, to much, or to low? considering what other guys are asking.

Congratulations what a nice resto - I agree on changing the steering and I would personally like the original wheels as well.

Its a pity I struggle with space as I would buy this in a heart beat (but when paying for a storage garage @ R1,500 p/month) it gets pricey when you have few cars. I guess 55-65k is a good price but at the end of the day, if someone wants it they will pay whatever you charge for it!!

When i bought the bakkie it had 3 different type of steelies I regret not tryin to wait longer to find something a little more original or time period...but i must say I do like the wheel i put on though...they don't look to bad on her..

On the wheel see above...so no

Engine: standard pistons,new rings, replaced bearings, redone the heads valve seats to be able to run unleaded

From an international perspective, that's a close to R100K car. In my opinion R50K is cheap.

Don't undersell yourself. If you advertise, advertise high, you can always re-advertise later at lower price.
