Hi Guys

Someone in Bloemfontein has offered to purchase the car, I accepted and we are busy sorting out any paperwork and I am quickly getting the car checked by a mechanic. Will post as soon as the transaction is done to close the topic.

Thanks for the effort and all the help with the pictures and codes.

Frikkie

Maverick,

Now where on earth did you see the tag before it has been publised by Frikkie? :D

And your are correct, it was an automatic originally, according to the tag.

He kindly Whatsapp'd it to me.

Car's correct colour is Daytona Yellow, quite rare as well.

Very interesting factory Fairmont colour then, since Daytona Yellow was mostly an European Ford colour, Escort Mk1&2, Capri, Cortina Mk3, etc.
Was the Aussie Falcon GT ever available in Daytona Yellow?

Would the "BLK." on the tag refer to the upper body colour/vinyl top, or the interior, or the blacked out hood?

This Daytona Yellow info should be added to member Henry / SAFTGT 's SA Fairmont GT website, since it does not feature there among the known colour options.

I believe Daytona Yellow is the same color as the Australian Yellow Glow.
Several of the Fairmont GT colors don't match any Australian GT colors but do match other fords.
I have a XW Fairmont GT that is Sunset Red, no color match in Aus but it is a UK Capri color.
From what I can see with the color combos on cars Ford South African were lucky enough to pick and choose what colors they like from Ford World Wide as several colors are European colors, Australian Colors and American Colors.

I know the car well and have seen it several times in person, but speak to Frikkie, not sure if it has been repainted.
Andre the photo was very deceiving with its colour my friend. Have seen other Daytona yellow cars and much lighter than the photos shown. Hence my reference to Maize.

Seeing other photos since however it's pretty clear its yellow.

As a Fairmont GT Register I never show VIN or Sido numbers on a forum/net.
Information is power and there are far to many people out there wanting to make a quick buck to pass on a fake car with someone else's details.
Just some advice.
