I think that calypso coral is the nicest colour on a 1970 mach 1. Also the fact that it has a 351 windsor as original equipment has got to be rare as most of them came with clevelands by 1970.Not to mention the four-speed and limited slip. 8O 8O Very tempting but my wife would fcuck me up. :( :(

Anyone care to estimate how much dough it would still take to finish off this Mustang?

Jeez I really want to buy that....

If I bought it I would budget 100 to finish. It might be less or a lot more but its better to be prepared.

If my resto "69 stang from 2006 is a guide.................rewire, refurb interior, new rims & tires, some chrome bits (hopefully not the 69/70 rear quarter window chrome boomerangs - they are near impossible to find), breaking & exhuast system has been standing for 12 years thats going to need an overhaul or new parts & "some assembly required". R80k min? You could probably get it driving & through COR for less than half of that........but then it wouldn't feel finished. Don't shoot, its just a guestimate guys  Personal taste & budget will ultimatley determine the number.

i think this is an excellent project to finish.having restored my own as well as being involved with numerous imports, maybe i could give a more accurate figure.rewire properly 15k.brake overhaul complete with new pipes if reqiured 15k done properly.front suspension overhaul with new rubbers, need new shocks etc 15k.interior redone approx 15 k .chrome bits are a pain in the ass.10k.motor started 5 yrs ago will need a redo.not neccessary a complete overhaul.min 15k with odds and sods.rims and tyres for these mustangs are expensive.20-25k.depending on what you want.this leaves you with a figure of about 110 k.now for the best part.the little itsy bitsy stuff can be a nightmare add 20 percent to this figure and you sitting with about 132k.thats a ball park figure it will take to get it LOOKING GOOD.rest is up to you.

i stand corrected

i dont think you can buy this car totally restored, licensed, lhd on the road for 400k.1970 fastback mustangs are still very sought after.unlike the 71 and upwards.i have seen them advertised in the region of 500k and upwards.a guy in dbn just did one and it landed him about 650k.no jokes.i have seen the car.immaculate restoration.
sky is the limit with these kinds of restorations!!!

Timothy is spot on , with proper wheels and tyres and no shortcuts I say 150 grand all in , the small things like cleaning the tank out and brake lines and rubbers and hoses , often the sender units are fckd that's 2 grand .... At least whoever buys it can see the bodywork without the trim and carpets etc which is easy to see the true condition ....
