Re: Lowering car

Hi All,
Heat treatment on old springs to compress, is liable to end up in the spring getting very brittle and cracking . Wouldn't recommend it.
Cutting a coil off though seems to cause the spring to get softer??
Any body riding on cut springs care to comment ??

Re: Limited production number vehicles.

Another Ford related question,

I know the Sierra and sapphire IRS were limited cars ie 150 in total,
Buy what about the production numbers on the Injected 2.0 L sapphires?
ie these were initially 2.0i GLe ( wide beading model) and then 2.0 Gli ( narrow beading)
Can any one help?

I Agree,
theres a escort mk 2 1.3L complete with these wheels , you can get the entire car and wheels for R 20K.

Re: Pool acid or what else?

Pool acid will eat away the metal too easily as its a mineral acid.
Vinegar is an organic acid and when used together with bicarb will effervesce and create a good cleaning action.
Organic acids are not as harmful to metal thus will not damge the material should you cleanup be not 100%

Re: Machining Hockeheim Rims

Hi Johan,
I have a set of 16" Hocks, the entire screw thread is part of the rim.
The metal centre bolt screws in there, so not sure if this can be removed or machined?

Re: My Project

Looking good !!,
That 4.0l turbo is going to be a super car killer.
Been checking the aus forums a lot and they reckon its got more potential to rival well tuned 2 JZ s or Nissan's RB 28 .
1000hp is quite attainable !
