Re: 69 Mustang Mach 1

It's one of our cars. Lots of if not all restored Mustangs sell in the USA for more than the cost of a new one. That's old news. The significant difference is new now second hand Mustang in 5 years - R400k if you're lucky - 1969 Mustang in 5 years - at the rate they're going up worldwide - double wh...

It is a load of nonsense and I agree fully with Gavin.

Re: Car Import costs - are our local cars for sale overprice

But remember as matters now stand you have zero chance of getting the required LOA from NRCS as they require proof of Euro compliance for every car irrespective of age etc.
That means it is impossible to register the car even if it has been converted to RHD.

Re: Car Import costs - are our local cars for sale overprice

Thanks Tim for endorsing what I say and as most know Tim also has been there done it etc. I am a retired attorney and spend a fair amount of my time battling with various Gov Depts who change their positions on things almost day by day. This includes but is not limited to NRCS, Customs and Road Traf...

Re: Car Import costs - are our local cars for sale overprice

Forget trying to register a car here that has been imported thru a SADEC country. These forums are full of guys trying to deal unsuccessfully with ex Lesotho/Botswana etc vehicles. And of course what has not been factored in in the cost of the required right hand drive conversion. Of course we will ...

Re: 1968 Ford Mustang Coupe

Hi brennan67, We are really mostly on the same page. I agree totally that there is a vast difference between the value of a coupe and a fastback (most noticeably in the 69/70 series) and that that distinction is less obvious here where a Mustang tends to be a Mustang irrespective of which of the 2 i...

Re: 1968 Ford Mustang Coupe

Guys, with the greatest of respect to all of you, when I see " the cost of x y z Mustang or whatever in the States is $whatever" I say blah blah blah. The reasons - buying a car unseen in the USA from a stranger - well who does that here from someone in your own country - plus it has to be converted...
