Re: Classic Race Car History
The Leon Booysen car was the ex Zu Bentheim car, but not the Animal ! When Zu Bentheim stayed in Windhoek he built his own version of a racing XR8. The car was apparently quite successfull up there but never ventured to the Cape. Zu Bentheim then moved to Paarl, bought the genuine Animal from Hepbur...

Re: Classic Race Car History
Hi Lino Re the original ANIMAL. Yes it went from Hepburn to Jurgen Zu Bentheim. He raced it for some years in the W P Super Saloon formula. The car went through many changes over the years. A friend experienced the exact same situation with his racing Escort 10 days ago.
Turned out the flexible hose from the inner fender to the strut was partly blocked.
A replacement (used) pipe was fitted and even braking was resored.
Good luck.

Re: Monaro's and SS's
Hi Lino Yes the boys really celebrated after oom Koos beat up the GM V8s in his 3 litre Cortina. But the story I heard was that they smashed 2 Capri Peranas following after race celebrations. In any case it makes a very entertaining story, especially when told by oom Koos. For those who are interres...
