Re: 67 Mustang GTA 390 Fastback Restoration project begins

Ok some more work done on the sealer and sound deadening done this weekend. I took photos before I stripped off the seam sealers on some but not all areas. This is the way it was done at the factory so my reference to try follow and match : IMG_6934.jpg and this is how it came out, together with ove...

Re: 67 Mustang GTA 390 Fastback Restoration project begins

Thks G... me too I just love to sit and garage and stare at her... Len, if you had a black 68 Charger that could have been fun.. I might have one non factory trick up my sleeve on this build as I still need to source crank, rods and pistons, I may just build a 445 stroker but with stock intake, exha...

Re: 67 Mustang GTA 390 Fastback Restoration project begins

When I see restorations done to this standard I sometimes think its sad that there aren't big show awards for cars like this. Really great job. Really like the fact you are trying to restore to the car to "as left factory". Thank you...! the hardest part really is having to think 3 steps ahead and ...

Re: 67 Mustang GTA 390 Fastback Restoration project begins

Amazing stuff so far. Thanks for updating. Quick question. You use a epoxy primer which takes a while to cure. I have read that some paints that it must be recoated again with in that period. Can you leave the epoxy primer for a few months or a year before you start MS primer or skim coat. Got a re...

Re: 67 Mustang GTA 390 Fastback Restoration project begins

Hi Its been a while since I posted, been busy with lots of small things that dont really show in photos. Anyway since the last post we have finished priming the exterior as well as the interior. I was really impressed how the interior came out, all nice and new and shiny.. But that did not last long...

Re: Ford V8 Engine Build Advice

Hi Willie I think 1st question is what car/ truck is it going into ? 1. Why would you want to keep the column shift ? I would look at a 351W motor as 1st choice - parts easily avail and you can get a cut out motor and gearbox from Rocket 88 / Mike Egan. He normally has more 302 but if you patient yo...

Re: Ford 390 FE, in pieces

Hi

No I need the 3 bolt version as those are the ones that are required on the 67/68 mustang as you cant get to the bolt heads due to the shock tower locations. Thanks for checking however.... I had to ask you never know what people have.. I will probably end up having to import from USA.

Re: Ford 390 FE, in pieces

Hi,

I am looking for iron heads but with 3 bolt exhaust ports per cylinder. Also exhaust manifolds with same 3 bolt exhaust ports.

Would need to know the date codes if you have these parts?
