The Mazda S102A only came out here in 1972 and that is what is on the outside of the BMW.

I've been digging around and have come up with two pictures. I realise this is a little off the topic of the ex-Vianna Beemers.

All we need now is the Castrol car of Paddy Driver.

You could also use a bolt and padlock and keep the key in the boot, ala Mr. Bean

I've had those pictures for a while and can't remember where I downloaded them. When I was looking for info on these cars I came across the Firstfive.org site and there the same pictures were. I agree with you about the mild steel bit. I don't remember hearing any metal when I knocked the wheel spat...

I dug up some info. Quite correctly Paddy Driver did drive a 530 in 1978 with Eddie Keizan. This was the year that Mazda came out with their RX7 and soundly whacked the Beemers which caused the factory sponsorship to evaporate.

Well if he isn't going to restore it to the original spec, what's the point? As Gunter said, he has been promising this for so long now. This thread was on the go quite a while back.
