Re: A question about removing the engine from a car
Since I have a skinny bum, not originally designed to do very much pulling or pushing of motor vehicles....I just use a long bolt through the chain to lock the position of the so called angle of dangle and easily adjust it as required, thus leaving my hands free to push the car at leisure. This meth...

Re: Welding Body Sheetmetal?
Moering Tool...you can do it hundreds too if you want to. Just takes patience and persistance. I'm not for hire :P Barry, thanks for backing me up on the panel bond, coming from you people will believe it. :) I agree about the cold welding. Exactly what I meant when I said bonding adhesive is strong...

Re: Welding Body Sheetmetal?
Looks like you're still more inclined to do welding rather than using bonding adhesive, so before you turn your car into a simba chips packet, please let me stengthen my point. So you don't feel secure with the idea of using 'glue', I wouldn't either just because it sounds weak, but you'd be amazed ...

Re: A question for you okes who have completed one or more r
Which part of rebuilding or restoration is the biggest pain in the ass for you? And of those cars that you've restored, which one was the biggest pain in the ass and why? Fixing the stuff the PO fcuked up...... Exactly that!! Having to correct sloppy workmanship takes twice as long as just fixing t...

Re: Welding Body Sheetmetal?
Okay, modern cars are a different ball game. Good old 60's steel and I'll go with either gas welding or MIG, but I'd stay away from brazing unless I'm working on a tractor (or a Ford). On modern cars I wouldn't weld in a hurry, I'd use glue. A special type of adhesive designed to replace welding on ...

Re: Talk to mee about ro-tiss-a-ree!
I see the reply I sent from my cellphone this morning didn't come through :( Stupid modern technology doesn't work. What I tried to say was.... Mark, I know what you mean about welding upside down, it takes some getting used to. If you must have the car on it's side or upside down, then simple, just...

Re: Talk to mee about ro-tiss-a-ree!
oops sorry, my bad  I got confused between "it" and "is" ...and read it as "it is not possible....." Then I didn't notice a question mark either... I probably read it that way because it should be quiet obvious that you will cause damage to the quarter panels if you roll the car on it's ...

Re: Talk to mee about ro-tiss-a-ree!
Who said anything about rolling the body on it's side? Although there is a thing called a 'car cradle' that does just that, but I was talking about lifting the body off the ground and crawling underneath. There is nothing I can't do laying under a car that can be done if I flip the car over...I can ...

So you're selling a nice Pontiac to make space for a Chevy?
