Re: Austin A60

Surely if the car is in very good nick it should fetch about R20000 to R25000. If it's like that, it has become a collectors item and therefore must be sought after. The problem is parts. Are the readily available?

Re: THE SPRINGBOK SERIES

It is unfortunate that the petrol story affected the country so badly. I had forgotten. I still say it would be nice if the series could be started again.

Are they still using methanol in go karts and oval racing?

Re: Fairlanes

I love the interior decor of those cars. It fits the period perfectly. I hope you will keep it that way.

Re: Racing Sports Cars

In the sixties there were two car builders by the names of Eric Brockhoven and Steve Mellet. Has anyone got info on them? I knew of a Mirage at some time.

Re: 1967 Ford Zodiac Mk4

Regarding the introduction of the V4 to South Africa, it happened a while before the Zephyr MKIV. In the early 1960's Ford Germany had on the market the Taunus 17M P3 which I think was powered by a V4. It is evident that there were a lot of mongrel cars available on the market in those days. The 20M...

Re: SA'S FORGOTTON CHARGER

Well I was out the other day and saw this Charger going along so went faster to catch up to it. When I got close I saw that the body was blue and battered and the boot was silver worn down to the rusty metal. I think this was a 6 cylinder. I was going to hoot to find out how many were in the car but...

Re: Racing Chev Camaro

Those Camaros never raced in South Africa in their day. They only started coming to the country to race once the Historic movement began. In fact a person couldn't buy them either. They had to be imported. On another topic someone wrote that Ford has missed out. I think Chev has also missed out defi...

Remember the Vauxhall Viscount and the 101. They weren't such bad cars, just British.
