Re: 1971 Chevrolet SS350

A brief but important update... she's off to get the last of the rust done, which means progress is actually being made

1971 Chevrolet SS350

I know, nearly fell off my chair when I checked my old files to see when I bought her! Got your PM Johann, I'll try to get out there this week and grab some shots for you :) Got to find a camera with a flash, it's pretty dark in my shed! And it is most definitely the tropics here, in fact, we got ou...

1971 Chevrolet SS350

G'day all, I don't make new year's resolutions, but 2013 is the year I will finish off my SS350. Amazingly, I've had her for more than three years now. And all I have done in that time is pull her apart and get a bit of rust work done. Got a bit sidetracked with the purchase of a house etc ... hardl...

Re: Ford Fairmont GT - 1972 XYGT - For Sale - SOLD!!!

I'm an Aussie, I used to own an RSA XY GT (and still have a Chev SS350) ... feels pretty real when you sit in it and put your foot down. You should give it a try someday, Colin ... Also, it's no revelation that RSA car values are less than the Aussie models. That's a big part of the attraction - sam...

Re: Chevy SS / Monaro

Looks like a 308 Chev SS, 1972 (pretty sure), auto (probably a Trimatic?), black vinyl trim (no houndstooth) ...

Is that paint code 46A? If so, we think orange/red ...

Re: Chevy SS / Monaro

Given it has the Monaro trims inside and the door tag number, I'm leaning towards a HT/HG Monaro with SS front end (for any of the reasons outlined above). Have a look up under the rear parcel shelf, what's the colour up in there? If it's red it increases the likelihood in my mind that the tags are ...

Re: Chevy SS / Monaro

G'day Bruce! That VIN (80837) indicates a Monaro with a 308 with a 4-speed manual (Saginaw). Could be a 1969ish HT, but the twin headlight nose suggests otherwise (unless the nose was put on later? Maybe after an accident? Or just because someone liked it?). A small number of 1970ish HG Monaros (sin...

Re: 70? el camino HG

I was of the opinion, with no facts to back me up at this stage, that the RSA utes never had 350s from the factory (not until the later models HQ onwards, at least). In Australia, the 350 was not a standard option in the HT/HG utes. Not out of the question that you could still get that option built,...

Re: Holden Monaro GTS 350

Here is one confrimed example in Oz...

http://australianmusclecarsales.com.au/ ... 350-monaro

Also, I think the yellow one above might be 308. Hard to tell from the pics, but I think they are 5-litre badges, not 350 ones ...?
