CAPRI PERANA UNDERSEAT TAG

Hi. I have recently bought a capri perana from a friend as a restoration project. While stripping the interior i noticed that the underseat tag looks a bit different to the one on my previous capri.I seem to remember the other one listing the colour and 4 spd man but not the svo and capri v8 part.Is ...

Re: Willie Hepburn's car

I saw that car race in cape town and it is EXTREMELY rapid.Looks like a lot of work went into the suspension setup and it is definitely a very serious car. I think the price was R 475 000 back then. Car was putting in 1 min 19 sec. lap times which would even put it at the front of clubmans against m...

Re: Ford Sierra RS50

I could be wrong guys but judging from the pictures this appears to be a 351 windsor and not the 302 they claim it to be.The angle of the pics are limiting my ability to i.d. it so again, i could be wrong. If it is a 351 that makes it a pretty serious streetcar and i wouldn't even care if it was genu...

Re: Mallory 302 Distributor and Msd 8.5mm plug wire

Hi Murdock

Does your mallory distributor run dual points or electronic? Is it the billet race version with no vacuum advance or the street one? Could you possibly post some pics as this would help us in making a decision.

Thanks

Re: CHEVY 350 V8 FLEXI STOCK CAR

Quick update on weekend race meeting. We did a practice session on tuesday at Tygerberg raceway and it was a real learning experience.Very friendly and helpful bunch of racers there.I almost peed myself on the first lap but starting to get the hang of the sideways driving style needed here.Lots of fu...

SOLD: FORD GT40 351 WINDSOR

Howzit. My gt40 is up for sale. It runs a 351 windsor with ported closed-chamber heads, edelbrock intake,four-barrel holley and stainless "bundle of snakes" cross-banked exhaust backed up by a five-speed manual transaxle. The suspension has custom adjustable tubular double wishbones with h&r coil-ove...

Re: Starter needed for 351W manual

Collin, are you using the old style 28oz flywheel? cos the XR8 flywheel uses the auto starter and does not need the spacer Correct.I dont have the 50 oz xr8 setup so i have to use the 64 fairlane flywheel because it has the correct 28 oz balance weight and is small enough to fit inside the t5 bellh...

Re: Starter needed for 351W manual

The difference in snout length is 10mm with the manual being shorter. If you are unable to find the manual version then a 10mm spacer between the bellhousing and the starter flange will work. I have this setup on my xr8 with no engagement issues.Bendix is exactly the same. Hope this helps. Cheers Colin

Re: Ford Capri Chassis

Howzit Dass Imho i reckon it depends on what you will be using the car for.My roadgoing capri perana had absolutely no chassis issues and we worked it quite hard but with the drag car the combination of torque and slicks cracked the windscreen on the launch.I reckon a set of subframe connectors to j...
