Re: Dodge Challenger Drag-car build.

Some of the engine parts before final assembly. Amazing that you can buy brand new parts for 40 year old engine. http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h454/Challenger510/04092009538.jpg http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h454/Challenger510/04092009539.jpg http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h454/Chal...

Re: Dodge Challenger Drag-car build.

Final product. Window to the valley pan. Do you find this has practical uses or it is just something different? Initially we just did it to be different, but now we use it to check at idle if all the push-rods are turning (or bent). Kind of a lazy mans valve lash check. :) Also very cool pointing t...

Re: Dodge Challenger Drag-car build.

I saw this in one of the Engine Masters magazines and thought this is pretty cool. We cut a piece of 10mm uhi clear acrylic and drilled and tapped holes on the edges. http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h454/Challenger510/28082009513.jpg We cut a hole in the valley plate. http://i1110.photobucket.co...

Re: Dodge Challenger Drag-car build.

Did not like the way the intake manifold looked with those mounting tabs and side closures. http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h454/Challenger510/081120081072.jpg Cut off all the bits. http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h454/Challenger510/09062009001.jpg We sent the manifold for sandblasting to ge...

Re: Dodge Challenger Drag-car build.

We added some baffel plates and trap door to inside of the sump to control all that oil from sloshing around. http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h454/Challenger510/04092009529.jpg Wish all stroker motors, you need to mock the rotating assemble to check for any clearance problems. We only needed to ...

Re: Dodge Challenger Drag-car build.

The sump was made from the existing sump and sheet metal. We first had to find were the steering rod is located (see white lines) and worked around that. We mocked up the sump with board, and then transfered to the sheet metal. http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h454/Challenger510/22082009486.jpg h...

We got the cylinder heads. The are 440 source "STEALTH" heads. http://store.440source.com/440-Source-Stealth-Aluminum-Cylinder-Heads/products/36/ We will port the heads and replace the valve springs. http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h454/Challenger510/18052009001.jpg The bell housing is from JW p...

Re: Dodge Challenger Drag-car build.

Mocked up the front suspension and steering so that we can start sourcing the disk and brakes. We will go scrap-yard hunting and see what we can get. http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h454/Challenger510/08052009287.jpg http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h454/Challenger510/21052009001.jpg We ended...
