My Vin tag was also lost.

After going through the necessary Police clearances and obtaining a new Vin number I made up a tag in the form of a sticker with the info and had the new Vin number stamped on that.

Would the codes for trim, paint etc not be the same as the GT's?

Yeh those lights were a fashion statement back in the day, unfortunate for both Capri's and SSS's.

Base does not look to bad.

Most spares are available in Australia, at a price though.
What really are the bigger issues?

If you have an Autolite and a new service kit at that, stick to it. No nonsense easy working carbs.

Holleys are tempremental when the car does not drive daily. I do not have experience on Edelbrocks though.
