Re: Capri V8 handling
600 lbs.... yeah what I have in the front is definitely not that stiff. That sounds like a good place to start as well as investigating a stiffer rear leaf. Just have to hunt down a vehicle with the same width leaf springs that might be a bit stiffer now. You could also try running shocks with thic...

Re: Capri V8 handling
I built the traction bars myself out of metal scrap I had laying around the shop. We were having really severe spring wind up without them. Basically they are bars with bushings on both ends, one end mounted under the center of the spring and one that mounts under the forward mounting point of the s...

Capri V8 handling
Hey all, I've got a US spec '74 Capri that I converted to a ford 5.0 HO V8, T5 and 8.8 limited slip rear end setup. I've built this Capri for a budget endurance road racing series in the the states called the 24 Hours of Lemons. Basic rules are sub-$500 car and mandatory sense of humor. While the ha...

Re: Greetings from California
Yeah you run teams of 4-6 drivers and divy it up over the weekend with about 16 hours of live track time, you get plenty of time in the driver's seat. They accept various forms of license (SCCA and NASA) but you can also pay $50 for a license through the series organizers. It's only good for that se...

Re: Greetings from California
The 24 hours of LeMons is a tongue in cheek road racing series. They do about 25 events a year all over the US on various road courses. Often times they have upwards of 150 cars starting events. Most of the events are two day sessions (Sat, Sun) 8 hours per day, but run as a single event so the cumu...

Re: Greetings from California
Ters, Currently we are using stock struts up front with cut springs. Not sure the spring rate. The car came with them and they were some after market spring that is fairly stiff. It also had a big 1 inch (26mm) sway bar already on it, so we've kept that. Have installed some urethane TCA bushings, bo...

I've built this Capri for a budget endurance road racing series in the the states called the 24 Hours of Lemons. Basic rules are sub-$500 car and mandatory sens of humor. Ran it with the 2.8 V6 for a few e...
