Re: 1972 Capri VIN !!!

Hi Paul,
I wonder if the car has been re shelled and given a new VIN upon re registration.
That is a long chassis number for a Mk1 Capri, all the ones I have seen including my own only have a five digit chassis number on the strut top.
Where in the UK are you? I'm ex S.A. in Southampton.

Re: Factory Pictures

I remember going to the Ford assembly plant in PE in the early 1970's and at the time the Mk1 Granada was being built. There were stacks of panels all over the place so I guess that's how they were shipped from UK and Germany. Some local content went into the interiors I believe.

Re: Pantera

I think it depends where in California the cars come from, if from the coast, like anywhere you will get rust. This car is build #1843 and I made a mistake in my earlier post, it is a 1972 model. It was owned from new by Vanilla Fudge drummer Carmine Appice, who also played with many famous people l...

Re: Pantera

I've seen much worse ones than this but there was a fair bit of rust and accident damage. Both A & B pillars and inner and outer sills below those area's, rear left quarter panel adjacent to the fuel tank, rear panel, bulkhead behind seats and upper seat belt support cross-strut, front cross-member ...

Re: V8 ford capri project

I'll have a look at mine and see which type they are. I'm pretty sure mine have the metal chrome surrounds. Here in the UK all the lenses I have seen don't have the screws visible in the lens, they are fastened from behind by the metal surround. I have a small crack in one of my reflectors so wanted...
