Re: Y151 - Missing ?

Hmmm going to get lost in history again. Wonder if that would be the same collector that bought LP's ex GT for a 100K+ after it had been restored. I've heard Henrys Perana was also sold again minus the BDA and some parts went missing along the way. Grates me to see my friends years of parts collecti...

Re: 8 Carillo rods

I imported the rods for use in a 4cyl - unfortunatly my costly calculations did'nt work out right and the rods are to long.

The rest of the engine and car was parted out to recover costs.

Re: Strong Ford V6

Would it be worth while just buying the crank - you'd still need a set of rods, thought it would be better buying a complete sub assembly

Re: Strong Ford V6

Not to sure about the technical specs of the 3.4, but memory serving me correctly it's a differant crank and rods running in a 3.0 block.

Trevor uses cheap pistons - presumably Toyota pistons and Chinese rings - says there's no better combination.

Re: MK2 Escort 1.3L and Hi all.

you must have - GL version, L did'nt have center console and glovebox if my memory serves me correctly.

1100cc also had 4.1 diff - the BW diff's are made of chocolate so don't put to much HP through there.

Re: MK2 Escort 1.3L and Hi all.

Welcome to AFM. Well what a find, how did the SA car end up in UK ? Mk2 escorts where manufactured in Port Elizabeth Ford plant. Production ended in 1981. Diffs where BorgWarner units - not sure if they where locally made or imported from Australia. U might find your car has the extra front strut su...
