Re: Historics racing Killarney 4yh and 5th Feb

Unfortunately Willie's car shed its left rear wheel and was t-boned by another car in the heat on Sunday and was fairly badly damaged

Re: Henry Korkie, RIP

To a truly humble man with a wealth of knowledge about the past and present of motor racing, you will be greatly missed. Thanks for the interesting conversations we had with you, reminiscing about the past. Henry had such passion and enthusiasm for the sport. I will never forget his hand in the unve...

A brilliant piece of work. I remember when you and John were in Cape Town grilling all the Perana guys and making lots of videos and taking lots of pictures. Well done!

Re: ex GORDON BRIGGS BROADSPEED ANGLIA

Hi five.wing, thanks for the really good pictures. They bring back a lot of memories. I'm sure these would have been taken in 1970. The Ford sponsorship ceased at the end of 1969 for him as it did for Gough, Olthoff, Taylor, Keizan and the like.

Re: DATSUN 160U SSS COUPE

I know that the 140/160Y coupe would be a good buy but as you know there is already something like that racing. I was hoping to get something a bit different and more unique. As far as I know there is only one other 160U racing in the country but that is a four door which is much heavier than the SS...

DATSUN 160U SSS COUPE

Hi guys, I'm currently looking for this car. It must be pre 1977 and will be raced.

Can anyone advise me what sort of price we are looking at? The car must be in reasonable condition.

I am from Cape Town so the car should be from the platteland and surrounding areas.

Please pm me with any info.

Re: EX VIANNA RACING 530MLE

It would seem the MLE suffix is a post manufacture thing. I am quite sure the 528 was the biggest toy of the time and these were the first 530's to be released, there was no other 530 to compare it to. 333 I'm sure your're right about the 528. My interest in those days was fairly intense because my...

Re: EX VIANNA RACING 530MLE

Apologies, I had these things filed in the wrong place. Quite right, the colour pic of the Salora car was taken at the Kyalami 1000 kms in 1976. The other picture was most probably taken in 1977. It looks like it is being followed by a rotary Mazda 323 I found it interesting that both BMW's entered ...
