Hi Guys, Haven't been active on the forum for a while....been to busy with my Sierra XR8! My father passed away last year and I also need to give the old CanAm some love... Re: Sierra XR8 Auth
Hi,
The engine number stamping RY.... would indicate that its an original XR8 motor. The chassis number on my car is an EY number, while my engine number is RY00036.
This is from info I have heard, and from other XR8's I have seen.
Regards
Justin

Re: Ford Sierra XR8 diff ratio change to 2,92
Hi Guys, Sorry blonde moment.....John was asking for a 2,92 from a Granada OR XR8. As Alvin stated there is no 2,92 in an XR8, but only in a Granda Perana, and thats why you would need the Perana diff..... I just need to know if I can fit a Granada Perana centre portion into my XR8's diff hou...

Re: Ford Sierra XR8 diff ratio change to 2,92
Thanks guys,
John, I went to the posting you were referring to. Alvin mentions that the Sierra XR8 uses a 3.5 diff ratio, so you would need a granada diff. What does this mean? Can I replace my centre portion with that from a Granada Perana?
Thanks
Justin

Re: Ford Sierra XR8 diff ratio change to 2,92
Point taken.... In 5th gear, revs are quite steep, and obviously fuel usage would correlate to this. Im not worried about fuel usage at all, but by comparison Our CanAm has longer gears and a lower diff ratio, wilder cam than the Sierra, and 5th gear on a highway drive would be really nice, so can i...

Ford Sierra XR8 diff ratio change to 2,92
Hi All, I know that there has been discussions of this before..... I have an XR8 an want to change the original 3.5:1 diff ratio to longer 2,92:1 diff ratio from a Granada Perana. The motor has been stroked to a 347 and with the torque of the motor, I really think the car will benifit from the longe...

Re: Lovers Rock Car Show 05/02/2012
Hi, Yes the CanAm has been personalised, and looks like less of a CanAm than a lot of replica's out there, but at least its a car that is driven, and not afraid to be driven for originality sakes. I know of genuine CanAm with less than 10,000 km's on that is so original that I think even the origina...

Re: chevy can am
Hi Guys, Anton, this register you are referring to... Does this consist of CanAm's still around that still retain their original DZ302 block, or does this include original body's that may have different motors in?? My car has the original 302 block, heads, intake, Muncie 4 speed, BW 2.92 diff etc. H...
