Post by Shaughn » Thu 20 Apr 2017, 15:46

My brother is looking for a driver's outer door handle.

Looks like an interesting project

Are you intending to road register it or just use for drag racing?

Wait not for tomorrow to do what can be done today, live each day for one knows not what the next day may hold.

I have been trying for months now to get info from Killarney on what the rules are. I cannot afford "drag racing" so I want to do the street 2 strip stuff for now.
I assume it has to be Road legal , but I am still waiting to hear from them what the specs allowed are, tire sizes etc

All I know is we not allowed to be under 12sec or u need to attend drag races .

Also been waiting a few months for the race forum admins to approve my account so I can read some info. But it appears all the forums are no longer maintained and they don't bother.

Barring the frustration of getting info, it sounds like a blast!

A few guys I know do street to strip and the Wednesday robot racing.

The car for the most part does need to be road legal but apart from that and the need to not go faster than 12 sec there don't seem to be too many rules.

Talk to Gunter, he should be able to offer advice, and sell you tires.

Well that original one I bought just became a donor parts car as I found another one with a Cleveland 351 in it.

Always good to have some spare parts.

So what does your plan of action look like? What is step 1?
Will you just be getting her mechanically sound, and roadworthy, and enjoying the Ranchy for a while, as is, or will you be starting the drag car build immediately?
Will you be fabricating a fibreglass front end, doors and tailgate for weight reduction?
