EL Camino

Post by hillbillyhotrod » Wed 10 Aug 2016, 11:55

So after a lengthy sit, i decided it was time to try and get Bubba running again. But as luck would have it the ever problematic alternator and bracket that has been a pain ever since i got the car decided that it was time to give me more grief. So deciding against trying to re hack and patch the thing i was on the hunt for a proper solution.

So i couldn't actually find anything for under R1500 that would fix the problem properly once and for all.

So i took matters into my own hands and built my own.

Now after all that it looks good and provides the stability needed and now the belt doesn't jump or squeal like a hog.

just 1 question

if something outside were to cost you 1500.00

what did it cost you to make yourself?

So the total amount for the alley was R415.00 ( keep in mind i bought extra )
Out of the alley i used, raw material cost was about R180.00 of what i actually used.

Plus about R15.00 for the bolts.

It didn't take to long to do, a weekends worth of work and a packet of smokes and 6 beers

Think I need to hi-jack your way of thinking there, need to make a similar one for the 308, but also need to change the alternator
