Papers and it's a bit tatty inside , gearbox swop stuff like that ... It will sell , but for a bit less ...

Like I've said before - Code 3 equals little or no chance of insuring it for a decent value - ever.

Plus as is being shown it has a huge effect on the real value and hence the realistic selling price.

Wouldn't any car that gets restored with a motor and tranny from another vehicle need to be registered as a code 3?

Im thinking about my Barracuda for example. Throwing out the slant 6 and putting in a 383, Im assuming the car would need to reregistered as built up/code 3? I know my Biscayne is and insured value is still R150k

Scar an engine change or even vin change doesnt make it code 3.
Yes we did build muscle cars in RSA!!!!

I fitted a v8 to my chev and all I had to do was data dotting, police clearance and new licence disc. Still not a code 3 and all was done legit.
